Prioritize Overstock, Mini Multiplier, Employee Discount, Super Fan, All Ears, and useful early-token upgrades; stop Early Investment at tier 3 and avoid replacing it with Tasty Investment.
Upgrade rules
Upgrade Cadet appears in every salvage location. Salvage payments and performance bonuses fund permanent upgrades. Base tiers are always available, while later tiers require the previous purchase.
Permanent upgrades affect every later night in the current run.
Highest-priority upgrades
Overstock
Each tier adds one copy of every Mendo item. This includes the limited items that break the normal economy: Distortion Clock, Death Coin, AR Mask, Laser Doors, and Mimic Ball. Tier 2 can provide four copies of many items, making long nights dramatically shorter.
Extra stock applies even to the strongest limited items, multiplying both safety windows and time skips.
Mini Multiplier
Minigames award 25% more tokens at tier 1, 50% at tier 2, and 100% at tier 3. A tier-3 Fredsweeper clear pays 60 tokens.
Mini Multiplier scales the most reliable token source in the game.
Employee Discount and Super Fan
Employee Discount cuts item prices by 10%, then 25%. Super Fan cools 50% faster at tier 1 and twice as fast at tier 2. Super Fan becomes essential when Nightmare Fredbear or repeated heater use makes temperature a survival condition.
All Ears and Spawn Killer
All Ears removes the mask's muffling, preserving attack cues while protected. Its follow-up, Cool Glasses, improves mask visibility. Spawn Killer starts each night with a Death Coin, but it is expensive.
Economy and utility upgrades
- Early Investment: 5, 10, then 30 starting tokens. Stop at tier 3; Tasty Investment replaces it with one cupcake.
- Felix's Loan: allows 15, 30, then unlimited token debt. End the night in debt and Felix kills you. Tier 2 can fund an immediate Death Coin if you repay it.
- Bear Change: increases blocked-enemy rewards to 1.5× and then 2×. Fractional tokens are tracked internally.
- Power AC: allows temperature to fall 50%, then 100%, below the normal minimum.
- Overcharge: adds 10%, then 25% power. Power Hour replaces tier 2 with infinite power for the first hour.
- Head Start: delays enemy activation 15, then 30 seconds. Late Start replaces it by beginning at 12:30; the delay is often more useful.
- Cam Radar: shows occupied cameras, then identifies the specific character.
- Fuzzy Dice: makes the first Upgrade Cadet roll free. Upgrade Commander exposes the whole inventory but removes rolling.
- Retina Burner: increases flashlight radius and strength; usually lower priority because the base light is adequate.
Backdoor Trading guest pool
Backdoor Trading adds one guest salvage per location: Coffee, Animdude, Chipper, Sparky, Candy, POPGOES, or Rodney.
- Coffee: survive 30 seconds of Pong; missing the ball causes a power outage.
- Animdude: clear a shortened troll-game sequence with ten lives.
- Chipper: buy Lumber before 6 AM or die.
- Sparky: follow the loudest bark to a camera and use Controlled Shock.
- Candy: wear the mask when the TV timer expires.
- POPGOES: shock the camera named in his speech bubble before he reaches its printer.
- Rodney: creates distractions but no direct kill mechanic.
Minigame cartridges
The Mangle, Animdude, and Cupcake cartridges unlock Mangle Tangle Mania, Scott Slots, and Cupcake Clicker. Fredsweeper remains the fastest consistent farm, but all cartridges are required for the all-minigames trophy and Golden Fredsweeper unlock.
