Frickbears 3 Basics: Controls, Cameras, Vents, and Difficulty

Learn the Frickbears 3 office controls, camera and vent tabs, mask, flashlight, lure, heater, guard difficulties, and first-night setup.

Quick answer

Use A/D for the doors, X for the fan, W for the mask, and Z for the flashlight; track threats across eight cameras and a 3×5 vent grid, using the lure first and heater as an emergency pushback.

Choose a guard and difficulty

  • Easy — Jeremy: one required salvage per location and the safest route for learning or collecting endings.
  • Normal — Mike Schmidt: two required salvages per location.
  • Hard — Vanessa: three required salvages per location; completing any ending unlocks Lunatic.

Every ending is available on every starting difficulty. Choose Hard only when you want the extra roster pressure or its trophies, not because the story is locked behind it.

Office controls

The office has a front window, left and right doors, two vent openings, and a fan. Move the pointer toward either edge to pan.

  • Press A to close the left door.
  • Press D to close the right door.
  • Press X to toggle the fan.
  • Press W to put on the Freddy mask.
  • Press Z to use the flashlight.

The controls are remappable in Settings. Change them before a difficult run; relearning a key during an attack is usually fatal.

The four monitor tabs

The monitor contains Cameras, Vents, Shop, and Games.

The camera system has eight feeds. Cams 4 and 5 border the office, while specific enemies and objectives use feeds such as Pirate Cove or the Puppet's room. Do not flip randomly once Mangle or Malhare is active; later characters punish unnecessary camera changes.

The vent system is a 3×5 grid with one entrance on each side. Click a square to place the audio lure. Most vent characters can be slowed, redirected, or allowed into the entrance and countered with the mask. The heater is a panic button that pushes threats back, but it raises temperature and can create a Nightmare Fredbear problem later.

First-session routine

  1. Memorize A, D, W, X, and Z.
  2. Identify Cams 4, 5, 6, and Pirate Cove before attacks accelerate.
  3. Learn to place one lure without staring at the vent map.
  4. Keep the fan off when temperature is already low to save power.
  5. Open Games and practice Fredsweeper early in a quiet night.
  6. Preserve tokens and power before 6 AM because both contribute to the post-night performance bonus.
